Shyla P.Y. Cockett and H. Shan Wirt, associates at Starn O’Toole Marcus & Fisher, have been selected to participate in the Hawaii State Bar Association’s second Leadership Institute. Ms. Cockett and Ms. Wirt are William S. Richardson School of Law graduates and members of the Hawaii Women Lawyers.
The Leadership Institute’s mission is to expose 15 competitively selected attorneys to different areas of the legal profession, build relationships for the future, gain skills to be a better lawyer, and to retain and educate emerging leaders for the legal community and the HSBA.
Shyla P.Y. Cockett concentrates her practice in the areas of commercial, real estate and construction litigation. Ms. Cockett is admitted to practice in the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals and all Hawaii State and Federal courts. Ms. Cockett is Co-Vice President of Hawaii Filipino Lawyers, has served as the Director for the Hawaiian Filipino Lawyers Association and as a board member and officer for the William S. Richardson School of Law Alumni Association.
H. Shan Wirt concentrates her practice in the areas of commercial and civil litigation. Ms. Wirt is admitted to practice in all Hawaii State and Federal courts. Ms. Wirt serves as Secretary of the inaugural HSBA Litigation Section and serves on the board of Hawaii Women’s Lawyers. Ms. Wirt is a member of the American Judicature Society and Young Business Council. She also does volunteer work at the Volunteer Legal Services Hawaii.
